Sunday dinner at Giovanna Bruno's home

On Sunday afternoon, March 29, we went to dinner at Giovanna Bruno's home. She had invited Elder Gardner, Elder Knell, the Hinmans and us. A friend of Giovanna's from the Gex Ward helped her with the meal preparation. The friend's two children were also there so they could play with Giovanna's two children, Matteo and Chiara.

Giovanna fixed two heaping bowls of pasta carbonera and two large bowls of delicious salad. We had rolls and many choices of drinks. She has a habit of putting more on your plate when you have finished.

In this picture we have Elder Hinman in thebackground, Elder Gardner, Sister Hinman, and Sister Badger. The little girl in front is Chiara Bruno.

When we had finished with the dinner, she brought out the most beautiful dessert. It was a molded custard pudding that she had made in her marvelous Bimbey, a machine that does everything. The dessert was almost to pretty to eat. We enjoyed the custard so much but then she made gelatto. I was too full to have any but almost everyone had a little.

Elder Knell is cutting the custard and Elder Gardner is ready to pour the strawberry sauce on top of each piece. Bellissimo!!

Here is the group altogether for a picture. When we had finished helping Giovanna do the dishes, we headed for the mission home for another meal. It was a potluck supper for all of the senior couples.

By the time we waddled up to our apartment at the end of the day, we were so stuffed that it was difficult to sleep.
