On Wednesday, April 14th, Sister Hanson and Sister Guthrie, who are in charge of Outreach for the European Area, came to visit us for the second time. They were able to train the Bertolas, a couple who has been called to serve in the Outreach center that will be started in Grenoble. We always enjoy their visits. We were in the Missionary Training Center in Provo with Sister Hanson. The two sisters have been friends since they attended high school in Beaver, Utah.
This month, our "Break the Fast" meal was well attended. We had over 20 young adults who came to eat and visit with their friends. After a short spiritual meeting, they ate taco stacks and assorted fruits, etc.
We have started a tradition that each month I will bake a cake and we will celebrate the birthdays for that month. This month it was Celine Mobodo's birthday.
On Saturday, April 10, 2010, Lorena Garcia, a friend of Jessica Rodriguez, was baptized at the Ecully Stake Center by Elder Leichty. Sister Andelin and Sister Metro have been teaching her.
On Friday, April 2, 2010, the Catholic Church in Lyon held a Good Friday service on the street outside the Center for Young Adults. The police blocked off the street to allow the people to walk down the street singing. Then they held a service with the priests right outside our building.
