Visit to Beaufort Castle

During the early afternoon, we drove out into the country to find the Beaufort Castle. It dates back to before 1100's. In the first picture, we had arrived and were admiring the castle. It is amazing to think that people lived, fought and died there. We saw kitchens, dining rooms and even a dungeon and torture chamber. In the bottom picture, Sister Doyle and I are looking at some of the mechanisms of torture. One is a hand press and the other is a rack with spikes.
