I took these pictures so I can remember what it was like to look out from our balcony. I also wanted to remember what it looked like up and down the street where we live.
Denise is one of our beauiful young adults from Mexico. While at school in Mexico, she learned many of her country's dances. She also learned how to hold her head still while 
the rest of her body moves. She is balancing a bottle of fruit punch on her head. In the second photo, she was showing us some moves with a dish towel.
Lorien Seon spent almost three months in Australia working on a cattle ranch. She shared her photos and experiences with all of us at Family Home Evening. There were 18 young adults present and five of them were investigators. The group had a good time visiting over refreshments. 
This month we had a potato bar for our "Break the Fast" meal and we celebrated Nadine LaCroix's birthday. We also were told of the engagement of Jean-Louis Monneyang and Lorena Garcia. Jean-Louis is from Cameroon and Lorena is from Mexico. Lorena was baptized in April.
It was the warmest day of the year so far so it was perfect for a barbecue at Miribel Park. Jason Medina, in the first photo, cooked the hamburgers, hot dogs and sausages. The ward members brought salads and desserts. After everyone had eaten, Bishop Baldi took the children out into the field for games. They returned with sacks of candy. In the third photo, Mary Ann Medina is handing out water balloons and asking people to line up with a partner. It the final photo, the balloons were flying and smashing all over the place. Since it was so hot, no one cared if they got wet. 
It was so nice to sit in the shade in a camping chair and to visit with different members of the ward. In the first photo, I was chatting with Soeur Germer. She is French and her husband is American. They lived in the states for 7 or 8 years and have now made France their home. Mary Ann Medina and her baby, Emmeline, are in the second photo. Mary Ann is the activity person for the ward and she planned this outing. She and her husband, Jason, are from the Tri-Cities in Washington and will be in Lyon for two or three years with his work. The Villeurbanne young adults are in the third photo. They are from left to right: Estelle, Lorena, Jean-Louis, Jeremy and Arii. The final photo is of the beach at the lake there at Miribel Park. To our surprise, some of the women were sunbathing topless. I guess it is not against the law in France.
This is the beautiful view looking up and down the street where the Center for Young Adults is located. The address is 60 Cours Gambetta. We love the fact that most of the streets in Lyon have wonderful trees. Every neigborhood has a park with a playground. In the last picture, Elder Badger is standing in front of the Center.
