The Lyon Stake Young Adult Representative
Coraline Giraud-Carrier is one of our most favorite people. She is a returned missionary and was a major factor in the success of many of the young adult activities. We will certainly miss her!

Our final Family Home Evening at the Lyon Center for Young Adults
On August 23, 2010, we held our final Family Home Evening. To our surprise, more than 40 people showed up. We had young adults, missionaries, the Mocellins and the Simonets. People brought lots of different food and drinks for refreshments. The lesson was on temples and we showed our African temple trip video. We also presented the photo scrapbook to the young adults. In the third photo, Patience, Tatiana and Joa May are looking at the book. In the final photo, we are posing with Jean-Louis Monneyang, who was the president of the council for young adults. He had just married Lorena Garcia in Mexico. It was a wonderful night with some very sad farewells.
More pictures of our final Family Home Evening at the Lyon Center
The first picture is of me and Sister Mocellin putting out the food and drinks brought by everyone. The second picture is of a group of young adults. Five of them in the photo are investigators. At the end of the evening, Jeremy Mocellin had everyone there write us a thank-you note. They were put in a beautifully decorated envelope created by Jeremy. The Mocellins are in the final photo. They have been called to serve as coordinators for Young Adult Centers in the countries of France, Switzerland, Italy and Belgium. We wish them the best in their new calling.

August 21, 2010 Last Relief Society in Lyon, France
On our last Sunday in Lyon, France, the Relief Society thanked me for my service as a missionary and senior couple at the Center for Young Adults. They gave me a beautiful cross stitched wall hanging with the words "Les Soeurs de Lyon" on the bottom. Isabelle Roux and Corrine Mocellin did the handiwork. These are the wonderful sisters of the Villeurbanne Ward.

Staying in Courchevel on August 14th
Traveling with the senior couples to Albertville and Courchevel
We met the Murdocks, Doyles, Hansens and Asays in Chambery and then drove to Albertville where we saw a medieval village. We had a delicious lunch there and then drove on up into the French Alps to Courchevel. It just happened to be the World Cup Ski Jumping Championships. The skiers jumped onto a track that looked like it was some kind of plastic. It was kept wet by sprinkler systems. We were able to sit on the lawn and watch the proceedings.
